First Day of school

Yesterday was the first day of school around here.  My youngest started kindergarten and my oldest is now a fourth grader.  Not sure when they decided to grow up on me.  I made them each a card.
I made them both the same (saves time!)  I used some old Scenic Route paper.

I also decided to make a little treat "cone" filled with goodies for the boys.  They found them hanging on their bedroom doors when they got home yesterday.  I got the idea from Big Picture Scrapbooking - they are having an idea festival right now - it's free!  I used October Afternoon paper, SU scallop punch, Martha Stewart apple punch and some ricrac ribbon - SO EASY!

Hope you have a great day!

Stamps: CHF making the grade, PTI fillable frames
Cardstock: kraft, white
Pattern Paper: Scenic Route, PTI
Ink: Versamagic pumpkin, aegan blue, tea leaves, java
Misc: PTI die

Did I mention I swam with whale sharks?

Yep, that's me getting ready to head in to the sea.  The whale sharks only eat plankton (or so they told us) so we were perfectly safe.  However, seeing a fin in the water is a little spooky.  It was an amazing experience - they are HUGE!  And they don't care a thing about humans in the water; they just want to eat...plankton!

Here is one headed toward me!  EEK!

I'm back!

Hey there!  Miss me?!  hehe!  I've been in Mexico, on the beautiful and amazing island called Isla Mujeres (just off the coast of Cancun).  My husband and I spent a week there celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary.  I will have pictures to share in the next couple of days... I swam with whale sharks!!!!!

I checked the Splitcoast stampers website and I won some prizes (remember all those Dare to Get Dirty cards I was sharing?)  This is what I won...

A Roll of XPressIt Tape

A STAMP from the Whimsical wishes line at Taylored Expressions

A STAMP from Splitcoaststampers

A 6 month fan club extension

Pretty exciting, huh?!

AND, guess what I had waiting for me when I got home this evening?!  My free stamp set from PTI for participating in their blog hop.  I am a happy stamper!  I can't wait to ink up my new set!

Celebrating 15 years of marriage!

Today my husband and I are celebrating 15 years of marriage.  We got married at the BEAUTIFUL Thorncrown Chapel.  If you are ever in Eureka Spring, AR be sure to stop by this amazing, peaceful place.  The moment we walked in the chapel we knew this was where we wanted to get married.  Our wedding guests had to travel to be there; I hope they thought it was worth it!

Anyway, it's 15 years later and I wouldn't change a thing.  We have two amazing boys, a wonderful family and friends.  We truly have a blessed life!

Now, go give your spouse an extra hug and kiss today!

I am Second - Anne Rice

I recently ran across this video by Anne Rice (the author of Interview with the Vampire and many more books). It is 10 minutes but so worth it. I thought this would be the perfect Sunday blog post. Hope you are having a great weekend. I am currently in Las Vegas with my girlfriends from college. We get together once a year (we all live in different cities) to reconnect, relax (we are all moms) and have fun!
