DTGD and exciting news!

I won a free PTI stamp set by participating in the blog hop on Sunday.  I am so excited!  My card was on NICOLE HEADY's BLOG, how cool is that?!  Now, which set to pick?!

I have another card for you - finishing up the DTGD challenges on Splitcoast.

I LOVE this SU stamp set - that little snowman is too adorable!  I added some glitter by using Scor-tape to make my "snow" stand out.  I did some masking too.  I had to get out my trusty stampamajig to pull off the stamping where I had masked.  Don't you love this DCWV paper?!  Hope you have a great day!

Stamps: SU Merry and Bright, PTI holiday button bits(sentiment)
Cardstock: SU Very Vanilla
Pattern paper: DCWV
Ink: SU baja breeze and Memento Rich Cocoa
Misc: Spellbinder Nesties, PTI buttons, emb. floss, Copic, blender pen, scor-tape, glitter

DTGD altered sprial notebook

My sister in law had some extra sample notebooks so they found a new home with me (I love notebooks, notepads, organizers, etc!)  This is the before picture...

And after...
OOPS!  You can see how I practiced the stamping first on some scratch paper!  hehe!  Another picture of the front and one of the inside.  (There was some writing on the inside that I wanted to cover up.)  Notice the waves?!  I got to use my Fiskars wave punch that Joann's had marked WAY down - I love a good deal!
I am revealing how old I am by using this sentiment but I LOVE the quote (and I really liked the 80's movie.)  I have had this stamp set from CTMH for a long time and have never used it.  I am so glad I found a place to use it!

Have a great Sunday!

DTGD poppy

Another card for SCS challenges.  I have really enjoyed this week.  The challenges have made me try new things and make card shapes I would of never done.  There are still more challenges to complete and I am deteremined to do all of them!

Cardstock: SU orange (not sure), very vanilla, PTI kraft
Pattern paper: PTI dotty biscotti
Ink: Memento black, Copics, PTI tea dye
Misc: Martha Stewart adhesive ribbon, button, CM ccs, Spellbinders nesties

DTGD enjoy life

I decided to make a card for my hubby who LOVES to fish.  I used a brayer on the card to make the sky and lake.  I stamped and then clear heat embossed the images.  I wish I had done them at the same time.  I did the shore first then the boat.  The fishing line doesn't show up very well because I messed up.  I am pretty sure my hubby won't notice or critique.

Stamps: CTMH Relax, PTI Star Prints
Cardstock: misc kraft, SU baja breeze and very vanilla, misc brown
Ink: Memento rich cocoa, black, bamboo leaves, new sprout, SU baja breeze, Versamark
Misc: cuttlebug emboss folder, CM ccs, SU punch, button

DTGD meets Embellish Magazine

Whew!  This card was challenging!  As in, it was made to fulfill FOUR different challenges!  Three of them from Splitcoast and one from Embellish Magazine.  I loved the photos - it screams MEXICO to me!

Stamps: PTI Just the ticket
Cardstock: PTI Hawaiian shores, kraft, misc brown and orange
Pattern paper: PTI dotty biscotti
Ink: Versamagic Turq gem and pumpkin spice, Memento rich cocoa
Misc: PTI dies, Sizzix dies, CM ccs (circle), button, floss, SU punch

DTGD treat package for teacher

I thought I would make a little treat bag to go along with the teacher thank you card I made the other day.  I used a Sizzix XL die that I got dirt cheap to make this pretty little package.  I used the same color cardstock and another Sizzix flower die to make the bigger flower.  Then added a red button and twine to finish.

I think some pieces of Dove chocolate inside will do the trick!

DTGD card for hubby

I made this little number for a couple of challenges over at SplitCoast stampers.  And it is just perfect for my hubby - our wedding anniversary is coming up soon so why not start the cards a little early?  Who doesn't like a surprise in their lunchbox?!

Believe it or not, I did a lot of stamping on this card.  I stamped all those hearts on plain cardstock.  This was one of my first attempts at masking (I stamped the sentiment first and then covered it while stamping the heart background).  I am hoping I get better at this in the future!

Have a good one!

Stamps: PTI Signature Greetings, W plus 9 background hearts
Cardstock: SU Riding Hood Red
Ink: Versamark
Misc: Creative Memories ccs (heart)

been reading...

It is the last in a series of books by Stieg Larsson.  I really enjoyed this series.  The story jumps around A LOT but it is worth it.

Hope to be back soon with something I've created!

Christmas tag in July

Have you ever wondered what to do with the thick packaging paper that comes with your Stampin Up designer paper?  Well, here is an idea... make a tag (with the little help from a Spellbinder Nestie)!  I'll let the photos tell the story.

I love my PINK and white BigKick!  Now all you have to do is add some pattern paper, a couple of stamps, some coloring and you're done!

So, what do you think?  I think she turned out pretty cute!  I like how sturdy the tag is by using the thick packaging paper.  Now, where to put it so I will find it in December?!

Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence
Cardstock: PTI white
Pattern paper: Basic Grey Figgy Pudding
Ink: Memento black, Copics
Misc: Nestie, gingham ribbon

I made another card for a couple of SCS challenges.  The strange thing about this card?  No sentiment on the front.  I kind of like it.  That way I can put whatever I want on the inside when the time comes to use it!

Cardstock: SU white, so saffron and old olive
Pattern paper: SU sweet slumber dsp (retired)
Ink: Versamark, SU old olive

How've you bean?

Yep, you guessed it, more challenge cards!  I like how this one turned out...

This little cutie stamp set is one I found at Joann's made by Fiskars!  I did a little paper piecing on the coffee cup.  The lines behind the sentiment and coffee cup are made with a background stamp - LOVE the way it turned out!  I wanted to make sure and work the coffee beans into the card front due to the sentiment.  It's late, I need to get to bed!

Stamps: Fiskars Latte Love, WMS offbeat backgrounds
Cardstock: SU very vanilla
Pattern paper:  October Afternoon
Ink: Memento rich cocoa, Versamagic aloe vera and spanish olive, PTI tea dye, Copic

Shiny Motorcycle

I am participating in some more challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers.  I made this card for my brother.  His birthday is coming up in August and he happens to have a blue Harley so this will be perfect.  I added some stickles to it because he keeps it so clean and shiny!  I wiped some Versamagic wheat ink over the blue paper after it had been run through my Sizzix to make the texture pop - I saw Niki Estes do this on a card and loved it!

Stamps: SU motorcycle, WMS offbeat backgrounds
Cardstock: SU grey, white and misc blue
Ink: Memento black, Versamagic wheat, Copics
Misc: distressing tool, Sizzix impress plate, stickles

Waltzingmouse sketch challenge

A sneak peak...

The Waltzingmouse sketch challenge for this week is...

Today was the last day to participate - nothing like waiting til the last minute!  Here is my card...

I finally got some October Afternoon paper and I am IN LOVE!  I also got to use some vintage ribbon I found at a local antique mall (that I could spend days walking around in!)  For the Wish Big sentiment I couldn't find an exact match for the ink so I did a combo of PTI aqua mist ink and Versamagic Oasis Green, I think it looks kinda vintage-y like the ribbon.  Have a good evening!

Stamps: WMS Vintage labels 4, PTI big bold wishes
Cardstock: SU Very Vanilla
Pattern paper: OA Fly a Kite
Ink: Versamagic Jumbo Java, Pumpkin Spice, Oasis green and PTI Aqua Mist

Cas-tastic challenge

Cas-tastic's challenge this week was to use three of the following items on a card...

Stamped (or printed) Image
Inked Edges
Masking
Paper Piercing
Lace
Embossing

So, I thought, I can do that!  hehe!  Plus I needed to make a birthday card for my son's friend.
This time I took the picture in my kitchen because the humidity level is outrageous today - I think the heat index is like 110.  That is WAY TOO HOT for me!  My son isn't sure his friend will like it.  He wanted me to make a Bakugan card - I explained I don't have a Bakugan stamp plus I can barely pronounce Bakugan!  I thought a paper airplane would be cool but what do I know?!

Stamps: WMS free spirit and sentiments , PTI up and away sentiments
Cardstock: kraft and red
Pattern paper: Basic Grey
Ink: Versamagic midnight black, red magic, aegan blue, thatched straw

Misc: Spellbinder nestie, emboss folder, paper piercer

Birthday butterflies

Morning folks!  Thought I would share a card with you today.  It is based on a card Dawn McVey did a while back (I couldn't find it but here is her blog).  She makes some fun stuff!  This card isn't exactly like hers but similar.

Stamps: PTI Butterfly Dreams, SU Inspired by Nature
Cardstock: SU very vanilla, black, PTI kraft
Ink: Memento black, green
Misc: SU so saffron ribbon, button, thread, PTI die, Copics, MS butterfly punch

SFYTT 7-10

I made a card based on this sketch...
You can read all about it here.   And the card...

I had a hard time taking a picture of it.  I really like to take pictures outside (the lighting is better) but it is so stinking humid my camera would fog up.  Anyone know a good solution for this?  Basically I had to leave my camera outside for 20 minutes to unfog (is that a word?!)

Stamps: PTI On my couch, CHF backgrounder
Cardstock: SU Not quite navy
Pattern Paper: Basic Grey

Ink: Versamagic aegan blue, tea leaves
Misc: sewing

Have a great evening!

Moxie Fab card

I found this scrapbook layout on the Moxie Fab World blog.  The challenge is to use the layout as inspiration for a card.  You can find all the details under Moxie Fab World: Finding Inspiration in a layout challenge.  Here is the layout...

I dug into my stash of papers and stamps to create my card.  I got to use some of my backgrounder stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms, which I am sad to report is closing up shop.  I also used a lot of my Versamagic inks which I have fallen in love with - they are the perfect ink for clear stamps; nice and juicy but not too juicy, KWIM?!  And I got to use some of my favorite PTI stamps; the fillable frames and dies - at $5 each, it is a bargain.

I think it is very Mish-Mash-y looking.  I LOVE Michelle's blog and how she mixes papers I would of never thought to do!

Now, I better go see what my boys are doing so quietly - never a good sign!

Stamps: PTI fillable frames #1, CHF backgrounders leaves and pretty pattern, SU pocket silhouettes
Cardstock: SU cert. celery, misc from stash
Pattern Paper: PTI pretty pastels, Cosmo early  bird
Ink: Versamagic aegan blue, sage, thatched straw, SU cameo coral

Misc: american crafts ribbon, PTI dies, button, floss

Hey all!  We are going to an end of the season Teeball party tonight for our youngest.  I made 4 thank you cards for the coach and helpers (my hubby being one of them - shhh, he doesn't know about the cards!).  He has been working OT this weekend so I could get these done.  I used Splitcoast sketch 288 for the card...
Ready for the card?!  I used a TON of stamp sets again and dug into my paper stash - feels good to use it up!
Here they all are - I used different cardstock - trying to use up scraps!

Color throwdown, caardvarks, practicing creativity

Whew!  I decided to make a card to cover three different challenges.  First up, Color Throwndown  is offering up their 100th challenge - very cool.  AND they are giving away a TON of stuff!  It is a color combo I would of never put together but I love the results.  FYI, I didn't have real red so I substituted ruby red.  Next is Caardvarks.  Their requirement is to make a birthday card - no problem!  And lastly, is a sketch from Practicing Creativity.  I think they are a fairly new company.  I don't have any of their stamps but they look yummy!  I used this sketch ...
There are more sketches available to participate in their challenge.  Check out this post for all the info.

I was pretty excited to use my new MFT banner die and the free alphabet set (used to spell WISH) I got for being one of the first 300 orders on their release night this month.  MFT is celebrating 4 years in business.  Ok, so are you ready for the card?  Me too!  Here it is...

Stamps: MFT 4th bday alphabet set, PTI get to the point sentiments, Inkadinkado circles and spots
Cardstock: SU ruby red, certainly celery, baja breeze, cream, regal rose
Ink: SU ruby red, certainly celery, baja breeze

Pattern Paper: MME Laundry Line

Misc: MFT banner die (don't you LOVE it?), embroidery floss and needle, SU celery ribbon

And if you are counting, this is the 3rd post for the day!  I am in a card making groove!

Card patterns sketch 71

WHOA!  Two posts in one day - don't anyone faint!  I based this card on a card patterns sketch...

You can read all about the sketch here.

I used some yummy Cosmo Cricket paper for this birthday card.  And I used a TON of stamp sets, did some mixin' and matchin' on this card.  My son has been invited to a combo party at the local pool for his friend and the friend's older sister.  So I HAD to make each of them a card.  This one is for the sister.  I hope she likes it!

Stamps: PTI fillable frames 3, get to the point sentiments, WMS free spirit sentiments, SU birthday whimsy
Cardstock: PTI kraft
Ink: Versamagic ocean depth, red magic, thatched straw
Pattern Paper: Cosmo early bird
Misc: PTI dies, MFT dies, SU ribbon, buttons

MFT sketch

I thought I would play along with the MFT sketch this week.  You can read all about it on here on Splitcoast.  It's a chance to win a $15 MFT gc!  I used the Little Lovesaurus set, which I absolutely love!  Since I have two boys it is a perfect set for me.  I also used the PTI ricrac die, I wish I had the MFT large ricrac die.  It was my first time stamping on felt and it worked like a charm - I used a versamagic chalk ink.  I dug deep in my stash and found some leather paper from Sizzix.  I think I got it free with I bought my beloved BigKick on Ebay.  I love the texture it adds AND it is an adhesive backed paper!

Stamps: MFT Little Lovesaurus
Cardstock: SU old olive, PTI rustic white, Sizzix leather
Ink: Memento olive, versamagic Gingerbread, PTI distress ink
Pattern Paper: Basic Grey
Misc: stitching, MFT and PTI dies, MFT button and felt
