Lucky in Love

Happy Monday, I mean Friday - where did the week go?!  Just to give you an idea of how confused I am on the date I made this card for PTI's blog hop today - the blog hop was yesterday.  I thought today was the 25th!

The card is made with PTI's new stamp set for St. Pattys called Luck of the Irish (it's only $5!) - I used two sentiments from the set "I feel lucky in love" and "You're my pot of gold".  I used PTI's ribbon, button and Spring Moss paper.  I also used SU! heart punch and DCWV Linen Closet paper.  I stamped on the ribbon (my first time trying that), I like the result...

In other news, we went to a hockey game this week and had a blast!  The whole family had a good time!  Plus my 5 year old has started taking ice skating lessons and has been referring to himself as Apollo Ohno!

CAS sketch FTL 78

You guessed it; another sketch!  This time it is from clean and simple stamping.  Here is a link to the blog.  I decided to use this sketch to make a 'thinking of you' card for a coworker.  Her mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.
I used kraft cardstock along with SU so saffron, bashful blue and dsp.  I used SU stamp sets For a Friend and Polka Dot Punches.  I did a some heat embossing as well.  Have a great day!

SFYTT challenge

I LOVE sketches so I thought I would participate in a challenge with one.  Here are all the details about this contest.  I used a kraft base and My Minds Eye dp.  The stamp set is from Unity called Rain and Flowers.  Here is a close up of the sentiment...

I used a Spellbinder Nestie, a felt embellie from SU, a button from PTI and did a little heat embossing too!  Here is the full card...
So I tried to make the background paper with dots seem like raindrops and to the left is the flower.  I'm thinking this didn't really work since I feel the need to explain my card design.  Oh well!  Hope you have a great day!

Duck Challenge

WOW!  Where did the time go?!

Thought I would participate in another challenge - this is a challenge to make a card with a duck.  You can read about it here.  I don't have very many duck stamps but I did find this one in a set called Animal Crackers from SU.  This is what I came up with...

Not my best card but

thought I would share.

Exciting news...

I am OFF crutches!  YAY!  I am in a "cam boot" for now and will go back to the doc in 2 weeks for more Xrays.  I am SO glad to be off the crutches - I can't even tell you.  The first place I went from the doctor's office?  HOBBY LOBBY!

PTI contest

PTI is having another challenge.  You are "assigned" a color palette based on your online user name.  So going with Creativebutterfly, these are my colors...

And here is my card...
As you can see I did some heat embossing on the background yellow (lemon tart) paper.  I also heat embossed the sentiment (SU! Thank you Kindly).  I used a PTI (Background text style) stamp on the cream strip.  The punch is from Martha Steward.  I mixed it up and made the card horizontal with the opening on the side - this is WAY out there for me!  hehe!

We got snow again here in the midwest - it's pretty but I am ready for spring!

Yes, I scrapbook

Thought I would share the layout I did for today's LOAD challenge.  It was supposed to be something about us.  I was going to stamp "a few of my favorite things" but ran out of space - oh well!  I do LOVE flowers - especially fresh ones - hint, hint, hubby!
I used SU! dsp in Sweet Pea, cardstock in regal rose, pretty in pink, and very vanilla plus some cute embellies.  I also used a nestie and fiskar punch.  The alpha stamps are from CTMH.

PTI contest

Papertrey Ink is having an anniversary party with challenges/giveaways everyday until the 15th, you can read about it here.  So I thought I would make a card today and submit it - winners will be randomly selected.  The challenge is to use the technique "heat emboss resist" on the card.
I used a PTI Daily Design's sentiment and the image is from SU! Friends 24-7.  I used SU! white cardstock, kraft and a turquiose paper from HL.  I also used versamark and clear embossing powder and VersaMagic ink in Sea Breeze.

Have a great weekend!

Valentine's card

Another Valentine's...

I used an Inkadinkado stamp and not sure if you can see the lips stamp (on the background) from Stampabilities.  I used some SU dsp and apron lace fiskars punch.  The design of this card came from here.  I really like Mercy's blog - she has great designs/sketches.  This Valentine card might be for my hubby!

Birthday card

Let's switch gears from all the Valentine's, okay?!  One can never have enough Birthday cards.  I used PTI stamps (Daily Designs) and cardstock (Aqua Mist) and my trusty Stampabilities polka dot stamp.  I used a circle punch and Spellbinder's Nesties - man, I love Spellbinders.  DSP is from My Mind's eye.  And I used the wonderful Fiskars punch in Apron Lace.  I think Fiskars have the best border punches.

Happy Hump Day!

Valentine's card

It's February so how about another Valentines card?!  Thought I would show you a close up of the card.  I used a rectangle Spellbinder to deboss the tic tac toe area.  I used some SU! punches and the SU! A Happy Heart set.  Another quick and easy card.  I did pop up the center of the tic tac toe.

BOOKS

Wanted to let you know about a really great book I read over the weekend - it was a quick read.  It is called Everyone is Beautiful by Katherine Center, check it out HERE.  Every Mother should read this.

I also recently read Steve Martin's Born Standing Up, you can read all about it HERE.  I remember seeing him on SNL when I was a kid - he was pretty funny.  I enjoyed the book and realized there is a whole lot more to Steve Martin than just a wild and crazy guy (pun intended).  And if you don't like the book...
"WELL, EXCUUUUUUUUUSE ME!"  (hehe!)

Valentine's card

I started Lain's Layout A Day (LOAD) challenge today.  Hoping I can stick with it and create a layout a day.

I created a Valentines card using SU! sets Love you Much and Happy Heart.  I used SU dsp from last year.  I did a little heat embossing too - quick and easy!

Happy Monday!
