Happy Birthday - medallion style
I was inspired by this card on Splitcoast. Isn't it beautiful? I LOVE the purely pomegranate satin ribbon so I went with that color for the card. I used MFT's fabulous rolled rose die for the white rose. I wish the sentiment stood out a little more. But over all I am happy.
Enjoy your day!

Sympathy cards
A friend of mine unfortunately needed a couple of sympathy cards. I had less than an hour to make these cards (which means they were both the same - hehe!) It seems when I start with a blank slate I envision one thing but end up with something completely different. Does this happen to anyone else?! Ok, enough talk, here is the card...
Stamps: SU Very Versatile, WMS Vintage Labels 4
Cardstock: PTI white
Pattern Paper: SU dsp
Ink: SU black craft, Versamagic perfect plumeria
Misc: SU ribbon, spellbinder, paper doily, Martha S. punch, SU punch, PTI envelope die
Not sure if you can see in the picture, the card is sitting on the envelope. I cut out the pattern paper with the Papertrey Ink envelope die. I think it really makes a homemade card look sophisticated.
The paper doily is actually something I picked up in the cake decorating aisle at Hobby Lobby. I saw Dawn McVey use the paper doily and knew I had to get some and try it out. I love the look.

DTGD and exciting news!
I won a free PTI stamp set by participating in the blog hop on Sunday. I am so excited! My card was on NICOLE HEADY's BLOG, how cool is that?! Now, which set to pick?!
I have another card for you - finishing up the DTGD challenges on Splitcoast.
I LOVE this SU stamp set - that little snowman is too adorable! I added some glitter by using Scor-tape to make my "snow" stand out. I did some masking too. I had to get out my trusty stampamajig to pull off the stamping where I had masked. Don't you love this DCWV paper?! Hope you have a great day!

Shiny Motorcycle
I am participating in some more challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers. I made this card for my brother. His birthday is coming up in August and he happens to have a blue Harley so this will be perfect. I added some stickles to it because he keeps it so clean and shiny! I wiped some Versamagic wheat ink over the blue paper after it had been run through my Sizzix to make the texture pop - I saw Niki Estes do this on a card and loved it!

Moxie Fab card
I found this scrapbook layout on the Moxie Fab World blog. The challenge is to use the layout as inspiration for a card. You can find all the details under Moxie Fab World: Finding Inspiration in a layout challenge. Here is the layout...
Pattern Paper: PTI pretty pastels, Cosmo early bird
Ink: Versamagic aegan blue, sage, thatched straw, SU cameo coral
Misc: american crafts ribbon, PTI dies, button, floss
I dug into my stash of papers and stamps to create my card. I got to use some of my backgrounder stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms, which I am sad to report is closing up shop. I also used a lot of my Versamagic inks which I have fallen in love with - they are the perfect ink for clear stamps; nice and juicy but not too juicy, KWIM?! And I got to use some of my favorite PTI stamps; the fillable frames and dies - at $5 each, it is a bargain.
I think it is very Mish-Mash-y looking. I LOVE Michelle's blog and how she mixes papers I would of never thought to do!
Now, I better go see what my boys are doing so quietly - never a good sign!

Color throwdown, caardvarks, practicing creativity
Whew! I decided to make a card to cover three different challenges. First up, Color Throwndown is offering up their 100th challenge - very cool. AND they are giving away a TON of stuff! It is a color combo I would of never put together but I love the results. FYI, I didn't have real red so I substituted ruby red. Next is Caardvarks. Their requirement is to make a birthday card - no problem! And lastly, is a sketch from Practicing Creativity. I think they are a fairly new company. I don't have any of their stamps but they look yummy! I used this sketch ...
There are more sketches available to participate in their challenge. Check out this post for all the info.
I was pretty excited to use my new MFT banner die and the free alphabet set (used to spell WISH) I got for being one of the first 300 orders on their release night this month. MFT is celebrating 4 years in business. Ok, so are you ready for the card? Me too! Here it is...

Card patterns sketch 71
WHOA! Two posts in one day - don't anyone faint! I based this card on a card patterns sketch...

You can read all about the sketch here.
I used some yummy Cosmo Cricket paper for this birthday card. And I used a TON of stamp sets, did some mixin' and matchin' on this card. My son has been invited to a combo party at the local pool for his friend and the friend's older sister. So I HAD to make each of them a card. This one is for the sister. I hope she likes it!

Birthday wishes
Summer is here folks! It has been SO hot and humid in MO - it feels like July not May. So glad tomorrow is the last day of school. The bus gets pretty miserable when it's this hot with no A/C. But it's nice and cool in my craft room...

Between both of my boys we have 4 birthday parties in the next week and a half. The boy that I made this card for is a huge University of Missouri fan - go Tigers! So I knew I wanted black and gold for the colors. This is what I came up with...

Mother's Day - Card Pattern 62
I FINALLY made a Mother's Day card - which means my Mother-in-law will get hers in the mail on Monday. Luckily, she is a very laid-back, forgiving MIL! I used Card Patterns sketch 62. Here it is...
Not sure if you can tell in the photo I distressed the edges of the circles and pp. I hand stitched around the edges - I really like the result.

You're so sweet
I need a Thank you card for a wonderful family. Two of the kids ride my bus and they are moving. The very kind Mom met me at the bus stop to give me a photo box full of scrappy/crafty supplies (she knows I am a scrapbooker). Wasn't that sweet?! So, here is the card...
Don't you LOVE the ribbon?! I totally copied the technique from this blog. It was really easy and I love the results.

CPS 161 & COPIC
Hey there! Hope you had a great Easter! I made card for my grandma aka Mimi using the sketch from CPS and I used a flower which was the requirement for Copic Creations blog challenge. Here is the sketch and my card...
I wanted to show you a close up of my coloring with Copics. I used R20, R22 and R32 plus the colorless blender. I have read there is a learning curve to using Copic makers and this is so true - I am definitely in the beginner phase. I used SU dsp Raspberry Tart, Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss paper. The stamp set is SU Flowers of Gratitude. The sentiment is from PTI Daily Designs. The butterfly punches are from Martha Stewart.

Easter - CPS Sketch 157
Thought I would share a couple of Easter cards I've made using a sketch from CPS. You can see the sketch here.
I used two SU! sets, Forest Friends and Good Egg. The paper is Very Vanilla cardstock and MME Laundry Line. I used PTI's egg die to make the egg shapes. I also used Fiskars Apron Lace - my favorite border punch. Here is another version of the same card...
For this card I used PTI Aqua Mist paper and ribbon and added a rhinestone from my stash. Have a great evening!
