New neighbors

Our longtime neighbors and friends are building a new house and leaving our cul-de-sac.  My boys are so sad to see their boys move.

The new neighbors move in tomorrow.  We have heard great things about this family and are excited to meet them (they are moving only a few blocks).  So, as any good stamper would do, I made them a card...
We are looking forward to making new friends and crossing our fingers they love the 4th of July as much as the rest of the cul-de-sac, 'cause we make some NOISE around here!

Stamps: PTI Daily Designs and sentiements
Cardstock: Kraft
Pattern Paper: Cosmo Cricket and DCWV
Ink: Memento brown and SU Ruby red
Misc: die, punch and buttons

Fathers Day...early

Mother's Day is just around the corner; so what kind of card did I make today?  Yep, a Father's Day card.  This pretty much sums up how I do things.  Anyway, I decided to use a sketch from Papertrey Paper Dolls.  I liked that it was clean and simple.
I used one of my new favorite tools, my Martha Stewart score board (not sure of the exact name) that I got a Micheals.

Stamps: PTI Daily Designs and sentiments
Cardstock: SU Vanilla
DP: DCWV
Punches: 1.75 circle, PTI die
Misc: brads - from stash, sewing

Have a great day!

Just Because

I wanted to make a card for our dispatcher (I am a school bus driver - I call it my part time gig).  She is such a wonderful lady.  She has to deal with upset parents and cranky drivers plus do her job!  She does it all with a smile.  This is the card I made for her...
I used a set from My Favorite Things (that I got for $4.95 in their bubble bin - I LOVE a bargain!)  It is called Funky Flowers.  The sentiment is from Verve stamps.  All of the paper is from PTI and the buttons are from my stash.  I used Copics to color the flowers.

I added a picture to my header - it is a picture of our dogwood tree out front - I love it!

Have a good weekend!

SFYTT challenge - Teachers Rule

I used the sketch from SFYTT to make a thank you card for my son's teacher - school will be out before you know it and I wanted to be ready!
I used a teacher set from MFT and paper from Scenic Route - LOVE this paper!
I used my sewing machine again - used a stitch that I thought mimicked (sp?) the ruler marks!  The ribbon I got a long time ago at my LSS.
Happy Wednesday!

Card Patterns sketch 59 - Get Well

I made a get well card for my grandpa using Card Patterns sketch 59.
I used pattern paper from K&Company by Amy Butler.  I wanted the robe to look more  masculine and the striped paper reminded me of my grandpa.  The robe stamp is from Lockhart and the get well sentiment is from Inkadinkado.  I used oval and tag Spellbinder Nestibilities.  The button (Kiwi Kiss) and gray cardstock are from SU!  I did use some chalk behind the sentiment.  And I used my sewing machine - love the stitching!
Here is the inside...
This sentiment is from Lockhart stamps also.

Have a great day!

SCS sketch SC275 and Caardvarks challenge

First, I was inspired by this picture from Pottery Barn baby collection - makes me want a baby girl!
Then I saw the Split Coast sketch...
And then I saw the Caardvarks challenge to make a baby card and this is what I came up with...
I am experimenting with my picture taking.  I thought I would try outside but this seems a little dark.  I didn't want to use my flash - was afraid it would wash the colors out.  Here is another view...
I used SU For a Friend stamp set.  Paper is from SU also: Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo.  Buttons are from my stash.  I used a Sizzlet for the flower and leaf.  Ribbon from American Crafts.

CPS 161 & COPIC

Hey there!  Hope you had a great Easter!  I made card for my grandma aka Mimi using the sketch from CPS and I used a flower which was the requirement for Copic Creations blog challenge.  Here is the sketch and my card...

I wanted to show you a close up of my coloring with Copics.  I used R20, R22 and R32 plus the colorless blender.  I have read there is a learning curve to using Copic makers and this is so true - I am definitely in the beginner phase.  I used SU dsp Raspberry Tart, Pretty in Pink, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss paper.  The stamp set is SU Flowers of Gratitude.  The sentiment is from PTI Daily Designs.  The butterfly punches are from Martha Stewart.
